Platypus Tours Wineries
Our winery philosophy:

Of the estimated four million people who visit our scenic area every year, it is thought that up to 80% visit the same 20 or so wineries. Since there are over 400 hundred wineries here, it isn't difficult to figure out how to avoid the crowds and find the more intimate side - and the real charm - of the Napa and Sonoma area.

Here are some of the criteria we use to select the winery destinations for our visits:

• Smaller, non-touristy properties
• Warm & friendly guest service
• Very tasty, reasonably-priced wines
• Wine tasting fees approximately $10 per person
•  Historic and/or family-owned
• Compelling story
•  Features (Great views, wine caves, barrel-tasting etc.)
• Terrific feedback from previous tour guests

We focus on smaller, family-owned wineries and wineries of historical significance while trying to avoid larger, more heavily touristed wineries.
